After deploying the servers with HCP Consul, you can continue building your datacenter by adding Consul clients.
»Join Consul Clients
To add clients to HCP Consul, you must specify the IP address of the private endpoint in the client's configuration retry_join option. You can retrieve a minimal client configuration from the HCP portal on the HCP Consul overview page. That configuration will include the private endpoint and other required options that each client will need to join the datacenter successfully.
Once the agent is a member of the datacenter, it automatically becomes aware of the other agents via gossip.
